Umzimkhulu Municipality introduced Mr. Andile Christopher Ngqoyiya as the new Municipal Manager of this rural based municipality, led by the honorable Mayor Cllr. Jabulile Msiya, during staff meeting at Council chambers this week, six months back Umzimkhulu leadership informed the public about the end of contract of then Municipal Manager Mr. Zweliphansi Sikhosana.it was on that note that the Corporate Services director Mr. Khalipha Nyamela was requested to act as Municipal Manager until 11^th of October 2022.

Sir Nqgo, as he affectionately known, is not new in the Local Government hence is the former strategic Manager of the Harry Gwala District Municipality whereby his administrative eloquence left direct footprints. Once again, the former Principal of the excelling school withing the Harry Gwala District (Umzimkhulu in particular) excellence and humbleness are not a foreign principle in his leadership style. the Umzimkhulu Ward 1 (Delamuzi Village) comes from traceable humble beginnings as institutional memory is not at risk to be lost.

The honorable Mayor of Umzimkhulu encouraged the upcoming Municipal manager to treat the employees with respect, work with honesty and ensure services are rendered to the community.” we have set standards to follow as the leaders of this municipality, we are committed to change people’s lives by promoting and ensuring that services are rendered” said the honorable mayor Cllr. Jabulile Msiya.

The SAMWU Chairperson Mr. Nkonyane expressed that “we want to thank the acting Municipal Manager during his time of service which has left good relations among the employees, we hope that the upcoming municipal manager will follow in his footsteps and excel even more”.

“I want to express words of appreciation to leaders of this municipality for appointing me as Municipal manager, I am ready to work. Allow me to lead from the front for us to achieve the strategic objective of this municipality. I have taken notes of the expectations from the leadership, union regarding improving the lives of employees is one of the upward the mobility and promoting from within”. Said Mr. Ngqoyiya
