Greetings to all

It is that time of the year whereby we take stalk of our achievements and challenges encountered through the journey travelled thus far and unveiling future plans towards addressing the basic needs of our communities through the provision and delivery of quality services. Without wasting much time, l would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Christopher Andile Ngqoyiya with administrative team in ensuring that are compliant hence we scooped an award for best financial management systems. We are currently having Auditor General on site , without being preamptious we foresee better outcome.

As we all know that Umzimkhulu is the biggest municipality in Harry Gwala District with the highest population which is predominantly rural, infrastructural backlogs are quite rife which requires focussed approach.  Working together with other government departments and even the private sector, we can do more. We pride ourselves as we continue to provide decent shelter in the form of building houses and other societal interventions through Operation Sukuma Sakhe to the profiled beneficiaries.  

In the previous financial year (2024/2025) , you might have witnessed few events whereby service providers were introduced to undertake infrustactural projects. During the 2025/2026 Financial Year we have a responsibility to ensure these projects are rapidly implemented.

Finally, I strongly support all the efforts by our community stakeholders in fighting social ills ravaging our society and we a number of awareness campaigns that will be held  throughout  the local municipality .

Together, we can do much better.
